The system
The first Sky-Frame system, and still the one most openings call for.
Classic is where Sky-Frame started. Insulating glass units run in slim aluminium frames fitted flush with the floor and the ceiling, so a closed elevation reads as glass from slab to soffit rather than as a run of doors.
Drainage for the flush assembly runs either in a recessed channel or beneath a raised outdoor floor. That choice, and the floor build-up it needs, is worth settling before the slab is designed — see track options.
Specify Classic when
- The elevation is straight and the view is the reason for the opening.
- You need large panes — up to 2.3 × 4 m double or triple glazed, larger on request.
- Thermal performance matters: Sky-Frame 3 reaches Uw 0.87 W/m²K (EN 10077).

For architects
Not sure Classic is the right call?
Send the elevation and we'll say so either way. We'd rather talk you into a simpler system than sell you one you don't need.
